Qualified
Pet Services is New Zealand's first boarding kennel and cattery
to receive the AgriQuality Certificate from the NZ Government.
This certificate recognizes our excellence in animal welfare,
husbandry and also the high standard of our boarding
facilities for both cats and dogs.

DOMESTIC
KENNELS
We have 26 kennels (20 single, and 6 double)
to cater for the larger dogs and big families. Dogs
are kept separate unless they are from the same family and the owner
requests them to be together. All our kennels are indoors with attached
runs all under cover. Our kennels and exercise yards have concrete
flooring that enables staff to see if a dog has a problem with toilet
functions(blood in urine, diarrhoea, and/or worms in the faeces).
This has proven to be very helpful. All dogs go outside twice daily
to individual large exercise yards that are partially covered to
protect them from sun and rain. They can run around in their own
large yard and sniff other dogs through the fence. This gives them
all plenty of exercise without getting into any 'doggie disagreements'.
Beds are provided, and you are encouraged to bring a small amount
of bedding to give them a smell from home, along with some toys
for their playtime. Please do not bring tennis balls or anything
smaller due to the possibility of choking.
A diary is kept outside each kennel and is filled out twice daily,
noting each dog's eating habits and toilet functions, as well as
any medications given.
We
cater for the care of elderly or timid pets, bitches in season, special
diets and any medications required.
Throughout the day, music is playing in the kennels and staff check
up on each dog to see that they have plenty of water and to give them
a friendly pat!
We hope your dogs will 'jump with joy' when they stay in our SAFE
and FRIENDLY kennels.

DOMESTIC CATTERY
Our cattery has 16 units and some units can house a family of three
adult cats at one time. All units have clear perspex sheeting up high
around the walls to let in good natural sunlight, as well as clear
perspex sheets between each unit, enables them to see their friends
next door, but prevents any 'feline fur flying fights' and helps to protect them from airborne viruses. The ventilation
system allows fresh air in without causing a draught on the cats. Our
units offer a safe environment for all the furry friends out there
needing a 'happy holiday home' away from home.
Our cats use hooded litter trays which have built in freshness filters
to control odours. This also provides privacy, because at Qualified Pet
Services, we believe pussies are like tigers, they like to see, but
do not mix well with other cats. We feel it is important they have
their own private space, where they can feel secure in a happy holiday
atmosphere. Our units are designed to give your cat(s) maximum protection
against fighting for their food and territory. We searched for environmentally
friendly kitty litter and found some made from recycled
paper, which decomposes, so we are able to use it as fertilizer around
the trees on our property.
Bedding
is provided, and you are encouraged to bring a small item of clothing
to have some smell from home, along with a few toys for playtime.
A diary is kept outside each unit and is filled out twice daily,
noting each cat's eating habits and toilet functions, as well as
any medications given.
We cater for the care of elderly or timid cats, special diets, and
any medications required . Throughout the day, either the TV is on
or the music is playing, and the fish are swimming, giving the cats
visual stimulation and relaxation, and staff check to see that they
have water and give them a friendly stroke!
We hope your cats will 'purr with pride' when they stay in our happy
and safe holiday home.
In order to stay in our cattery, all cats must be up to date with
