1. Q: Can I inspect your cattery/kennels before my cat/dog comes to stay? A:
Yes, inspection times are 11am to 2pm Monday to Saturday, excluding
public holidays and school holidays. As
we are also a quarantine facility, photo identification (e.g. drivers license) will need
to be provided before inspecting our facilities. A: Your cat/dog must be over 4 months of age with all of his/her vaccinations up-to-date (within the year is fine) proof must be provided, i.e. vaccination card(s). 3. Q: Why does my cat/dog need to have a yearly vaccination? A: Your cat/dog needs his/her yearly vaccination to protect him/her from diseases like canine cough, parvovirus, cat flu, etc. For further information we suggest you speak to your veterinarian. Before your cat/dog arrives into our boarding facility, the following vaccinations must have been given within the last 12 months (we recommend that canine cough (bordetella), be give within the last 6 months.)
4. Q: Can I bring my cat/dog's own bedding and toys with him/her to sleep on during their stay? A: Yes, you are more than welcome to bring along your cat or dog's bedding and toys, we encourage owners to do so as it helps their cat/dog settle in and makes them feel more at home. N.B Please make sure that they are named. The extra special toy should be left at home as it will be a pleasant surprise for them on returning. We take no responsibility for damage to bedding or toys. Please do not bring big bulky items such as duvets, big blankets and bean bags as we are unable to wash them. 5. Q: My cat/dog is on medication and/or a special diet; can you still look after him/her? A:
Yes we can cater for your cat/dog with his/her special medical and/or
food requirements. You provide the medication and /or food, along with
detailed instructions and we will administer it at no extra charge. 6. Q: How can I prepare my cat/dog for boarding? A:
It is best to start boarding your cat/dog at a young age so
that he/she learns that it is a fun experience and that Mum and Dad
do come back for them. If
this hasn't been done it is a good idea to ease them into it by boarding
them first for 1 night, then 2 nights etc to get them used to being
left in the kennel. 7. Q: Will my dog be exercised during his/her stay with you? A: Yes all dogs have a
kennel and run of their own and they also get put out into
their own exercise area's twice a day where they can run and play. 8. Q: Will my cat be in a separate unit or are they all together? A:
All cats have their own units. We only put cats from the same
family in together, and only if they get along.
Our cat units are large enough to house three adult size cats. 9. Q: What kind of security do you have at the kennels? A: There is someone on the property 24 hours a day, with intercoms to all the buildings so if there are any problems we will know immediately. All the kennels and buildings are fitted with smoke alarms and are also protected with monitored alarm systems. 10. Q: Can I or a friend visit my cat/dog in the kennels or cattery while my cat/dog is boarding with you? A: Yes you can visit your cat/dog while he/she is boarding with us, and you can also arrange for a relative or friend to visit, if you are not able to, providing they bring written authorization from you. 11. Q: I got my cat/dog from the SPCA, dog pound etc. Can he/she come and board with you? A: Yes, as long he/she is over 4 months old with all his/her vaccinations up to date, and he/she has been out of the SPCA, dog pound, etc. for 14 days prior to coming to board with us. 12. Q: What are the business hours? A: The business hours are 8:30am until 5:00pm 12A. Q: What is the best time to pickup & drop off? A: If dropping off a cat/dog the times are 8.30am-5.00pm. We recommend that you drop off your cat/dog by 4.00pm to give them time to settle in before we close. If picking up your cat/dog, please come between 8:30am and 12 noon. After 12 noon you will be charged an extra nights night's fee. 14. Q: What happens if my cat/dog becomes ill during its stay in your facility? A: It is very important that when your cat/dog is staying with us we have contact details for the owner or guardian at all times. Our staff do regular daily checks on every animal in our care to ensure his/her well being and if a cat/dog is found to be ill then we will contact the owner or guardian first to discuss the problem and call the vet if necessary. In case of a medical emergency, the vet will be contacted straight away and the owner will be informed as soon as a staff member can get hold of them. Due to animal welfare we will never wait for permission in the case of an emergency as this may slow down the treatment needed, but we will always keep the owner informed about what is happening with their beloved cat/dog.
